An 86-year-old farmer just did something that shocked the entire tech industry. 🌾 Mervin Raudabaugh of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, turned down over $15 million from data center developers who offered him $60,000 per acre for his 261 acres of farmland in Silver Spring Township. He had farmed that land for more than 60 years. Developers reportedly pressured him so aggressively that his attorney considered filing a legal case against them. He said simply, "I was not interested in destroying my farms. That was the bottom line."

Instead of taking the millions, Raudabaugh sold the development rights to the Lancaster Farmland Trust for under $2 million. 💚 This legal conservation easement ensures the land can never be used for anything other than farming ever again. His mother died in his arms inside a barn on that property. For him, no amount of money could replace that. As AI expansion drives unprecedented demand for land across America, this story is a powerful reminder that some things simply cannot have a price tag. 🙏
