One easy way to help protect our waterways and the Long Island Sound? Pick up after your pet.

Rain can wash pet waste from sidewalks and grass into storm drains. From there, it flows untreated into nearby waterways—including the Long Island Sound.

Studies from the Long Island Sound Study have found that pet waste can contribute to bacteria pollution that harms water quality, wildlife, and public health.

The America 250 Wish Project opens tomorrow at the New Rochelle Public Library

As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, community members of all ages are invited to write or draw their hopes, dreams, and wishes for America’s future.

Wishes gathered in New Rochelle will join thousands more being collected across the country through the national Wish Wall initiative coordinated by Made By Us .
