With all the chaos and crisis going on in the world today..There were 94 mass shootings and counting just in the first quarter of 2026 in United States. This is an alarming and drastic increase from 69 during the same period in 2025, though still below the record highs seen in 2021.
Gun violence in the United States has shown a complex shift over the last couple of years. While overall shooting deaths have reached their lowest levels in over a decade, mass shooting incidents and suicides continue to be points of significant concern.

A Prayer for the Victims and their Families’ Peace and Healing
Dear Ftather God, our hearts are broken with pain at the senseless deaths caused by gun violence. Families mourn, children live in fear, and our communities are scarred. We bring before you those who have been killed and those who are injured in both body and soul. Bring your healing grace and comfort to the families and friends left behind, who face the agonizing journey of grief. We lift up the first responders, nurses, and doctors who work to heal what has been broken.
We beseech you, oh Lord, to deliver this nation from profound anxiety and anger. Help us to turn away from violence and toward peace, and to be your instruments of peace in our homes and communities. We pray for all who are tempted to commit acts of violence, that their hearts may be turned toward love and understanding. Strengthen us to seek just laws to protect the vulnerable, and help us to put our full faith and trust in you. We ask this in the name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. Amen.
