In January, USCIS released a proposal that would raise application fees for almost every category of immigrant to the United States.

The most significant proposed change is to the Adjusting your status in the US (concurrent filing of the I-485, I-130, I-765 and I-131). This fee is doubling from $1760 to over $3640.

Other applications that are set to increase in price: the fiancé visa petition will increase by 35%, from $535 to $720, the petition for a relative will increase by 53% from $535 to $820, and the removal of conditions application will increase by 76%, from $680 to $1,195.
Also
The citizenship application will increase by $35, however they plan on combining the fee application fee with the biometric fee into one fee of just $760. This increase is still below the original proposed of $865.

USCIS is required to review its fee structure every two years; fees haven’t changed since 2016, and USCIS has determined that the current fees are not enough to support its services or make a dent in the application backlog.

NJ Residents to Get ‘Significant’ New Tax Cuts
Gov. Phil Murphy said residents can expect “significant tax cuts” even after the state passed a $2 billion property tax rebate program last year.

During his annual policy address earlier this week, Murphy proposed incentives to keep more workers in the state, an effort to cut down the out-of-state income tax on workers who commute to New York. More than 430,000 New Jersey residents paid taxes in New York in 2020, according to the latest tax data available. (Source: Bloomberg.com, 1/12/2023)
