Here's an adorable Great Tit. 💕

One of my target birds, in the UK, was the Eurasian Green Woodpecker.
He's pretty elusive if you are just birding in the city but will be found in expansive parks if you are determined. 🧐
I heard him first and if you look at the last shot you will see how much we had to walk around until we truly got to see him.
He was an active little bu**er. 🙃
We then found out where he likes to hunt- all over Richmond Park are these anthills (4th shot), which were continuously tripping me up. 🐜
Turns out this is the woodpecker's hunting grounds.

So excited to see the Great Crested Grebe. 🥹
What a stunner! 😍
Hopefully I will get to see the mating dance on this trip. ❤️
The UK species pretty much stays local, wintering in coastal spots and then coming back to freshwater in the Spring to breed. 🌸

This warbler sized Blue Tit was flitting in the canopy with another. Shocking to see them for the 1st time.

How did we not notice these beauties in trips past?
