New York Common Pantry reduces hunger while promoting dignity, health and self-sufficiency.

Recent federal SNAP changes are making it harder for many families to access food assistance and as a result, more people are relying on pantries to make ends meet.

At New York Common Pantry, we’re seeing longer lines and an increase in demand for our services. To meet this need, NYCP is advocating to protect food access and to support emergency food providers.

New York Common Pantry was just honored at the Spanish Speaking Elderly Council-RAICES 48th Anniversary Gala with the 2026 Homero Rosado Award. This RAICES award recognized NYCP's "tireless and passionate commitment to reducing hunger and food insecurity, and delivering an array of programs that empower and uplift the lives of underserved communities." Our Nourish senior supplemental grocery program has partnered with RAICES for many years, supporting their communities in Brooklyln and Queens. Congratulations to all of the honorees and thank you to RAICES for assisting older adults to live independent, socially engaged, and healthy lives.

For nearly 50 years, RAICES has been providing Latino, African-American, and low-income communities with an emphasis on the older adult population with services such as health and wellness activities, case management assistance, educational classes, and more.
