Next month, we are hosting the 73rd annual Jane Addams Children's Book Award Ceremony in Chicago, IL! This event will take place at the historic Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, and is free to the public! Participants will have the chance to tour the museum, meet award-winning authors, and receive free copies of the books awarded by the Peace Association. Admission is free, but space is limited. The Jane Addams Peace Association would like to thank The Fairfield County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated for partnering us to bring an award-winning author and copies of her book to a classroom in Bridgeport, Connecticut! Kesi Augustine was a finalist for the 2026 Jane Addams Children's Book Award for her book "Faith Takes the Train." On February 26th, author of "Up, Up, Ever Up! Junko Tabei: A Life in the Mountains," Anita Yasuda, virtually visited a classroom of 2nd graders in Arkansas. All of the students received a copy of this book to take home. Our "Books In Their Hands" program is making a difference in student lives!
