The New York Athletic Club Boxing team has been officially open for one year! What a trip it has been! In local tournaments (Ringmasters Road to the Garden and The Metropolitan championships), we have placed 8 out of our 9 competitors in the top 3. Shinekwa Kershaw will be competing in her first national championship tournament alongside one of our non-resident athletes, Yoseline Perez! Yoseline, coached by her father Juan Carlos Perez and brothers, won the national summer festival tournament! Our other non-resident athlete, Omari Jones, trained by Jason Galarza, earned an Olympic bronze medal! Held a Professional Corner care course. Finally, we had 4 Haymakers for Hope competitors (Amdy Lin, Aidan Denning, Karl Mauer, and Neil Pedersen) raise over $100,000 to help fight cancer! Not a bad start. We are in our crawl phase.
