Cats use their claws for so many things this just isn't right

Khloe Kardashian recently revealed her cats were "very unhappy" after being declawed, which has sparked much discussion online regarding how controversial the procedure is. Most people don't realize that declawing is much more serious than just cutting off a cat's nails. The surgery actually takes off part of the toe bone where the claw grows, which is why experts often compare it to amputating a human fingertip at the last knuckle. Animal advocates and veterinarians have warned that the procedure can sometimes leave cats with long term pain, trouble walking, stress and behavioral changes. And so declawing is banned or restricted in many places, with many experts now recommending alternatives such as scratching posts, regular nail trimming or soft nail caps.
