This photo popped up in my Memories today, and it’s far too good of a photo of and me not to share on (even if it was taken when Instagram was only about two years old.😊)

I took Sheri’s Rock the Audition class years ago, and the lessons I learned continue to influence both my teaching and my own performing to this day. She’s now across the pond dramaturging in the UK, but this remains one of my favorite photos and memories (even though our eyes are closed! 😂❤️)

Very grateful to have had a successful vocal studio recital on Sunday at . These two delightful young ladies, Layla and Lennon Shirazi, pictured here, were among the students who performed.

Layla paid tribute to ’ production of “Pippin” by singing an arrangement of “Simple Joys” while playing guitar, and she played Sheila in a trio version of “At The Ballet” with .deighton as Bebe and a last-minute understudy appearance by and as Maggie, filling in for the sorely missed .27272727, who was unable to perform due to illness.

Lennon performed in a trio of “Lost” from “The Lightning Thief” with Vivi Maiberger and Eve Ow, and also sang “I’ll Know” from “Guys and Dolls.” Lennon and Layla additionally performed “All for the Best” from “Godspell” as a duet to close the first act of the recital.

Had a fantastic time accompanying my wonderful friend and colleague ’s student voice recital in Brooklyn this past Saturday. Great to collab with all of these well-prepared young singers! Congratulations to Lauren and her studio! 🥳👏🎹🎤
