Our team is proud to announce that we have placed second in the Melnychuka 14-16 Ideas competition!

Tasked to develop an adaptive reuse proposal for a pair of university buildings from the mid 19-th century in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, StoryHaven transforms the buildings into a space dedicated to chronicling the tales and traditions of Ivano-Frankivsk and preserving the collective memory for future generations.

Additionally, Sharon Davis Design intends to donate the prize winnings to “Women’s Perspectives”, A Ukraine-Based non profit that has been assisting women who have faced domestic violence, discrimination in the labor market, and promoting pro-equality gender policy within the nation since 1998.

Sharon Davis Design is thrilled to share our submittal for the new Institute of Migration office on the UN Geneva Campus!

The driving ideas behind our building reflect the organization it is designed to host. When entering the building, one is greeted by the majestic Baobab tree. Native to sub-Saharan Africa, the Baobab tree represents the hope of survival in local folklore, providing food, water, and shelter to those who seek it. The Baobab tree also serves an homage to Africa being the cradle of humanity, and the source of global diaspora through prehistoric movement and migration. This movement is captured in six floors of office space above, joined by alternating double-height communal spaces on the north and south wings, each representing an occupied continent through the ceremonial dusting of local soil into polished earthen floors, allowing users to follow the cycle of human migration from Africa to South America.
