Call for Entries: Stories from the Table

Around every table, there’s a story of hope. The Foundation for Post-Conflict Development invites you to share yours in our new global photography and storytelling initiative, inspired by The Peace Cookbook.

Submit one photograph and a short reflection (300–500 words) on how food has preserved identity, rebuilt community, or opened the door to peace in your life. A family recipe is welcome too. No professional experience needed — we’re looking for authentic voices, not perfect pictures.

Selected entries will join a permanent digital exhibition and be featured in a digital vernissage on culinary diplomacy and peacebuilding.

The Foundation for Post Conflict Development (FPCD) is proud to share exciting updates:

🇷🇸 On May 15, the FPCD team had the profound honour of being welcomed to The Royal Compound of Belgrade and of sharing a memorable dinner with Their Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia.

📖 The same day, the FPCD also launched its Peace Cookbook Blog to offer a glimpse of the Peace Cookbook articles, which will officially launch on September 21, 2026.

🤝 Earlier in March, Claudia Abate, Founder and Executive Director of the Foundation for Post Conflict Development, was honoured to be named as a Cooperative for Humanity Global Ambassador.

From high-level representation to cultural diplomacy initiatives, this edition highlights our lasting partnerships and our shared commitment to sustainable development.

🇷🇸 Our visit to The Royal Compound offered a remarkable journey through the history of Serbia and the legacy of the Royal Family, providing meaningful insight into the nation’s heritage, identity, and enduring traditions.

🤝 This special moment was made possible thanks to the sincere commitment of Wheeler del Torro to Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, an organization whose humanitarian values deeply align with the mission of the FPCD.

🌍 Established in 1993 by HRH Crown Princess, Lifeline Humanitarian Organization has spent more than thirty years supporting vulnerable communities, including children, refugees, elderly individuals, families and hospitals. Their conviction that compassion transcends borders stands as an inspiring example of solidarity and humanity.

📖 During the evening, Wheeler del Torro had the privilege of presenting Their Royal Highnesses with the latest proof of the Peace Cookbook, a project he authored to celebrate culture and food as powerful bridges between people and nations.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Their Royal Highnesses for their gracious hospitality, their inspiring humanitarian leadership, and the thoughtful conversations we shared on culture, service, history and peace.
