Faeza Ashraf captures the persistent struggle of a refugee and his daughter to survive in a world where they are exiled from their own home. Her poem's title, "Their Joined Palms," is derived from the refugee and daughter touching the opposite sides of the same wall. While the wall signifies distance, unbeknownst to them, it also forms a physical connection between the daughter and her father. http://mymonline.org/their-joined-palms/
