“Hidcote Indienne” is inspired by the gardens of Hidcote Manor, a 10.5-hectare classical garden created in the early 20th century by the American horticulturalist Lawrence Johnstone.
The planting at Hidcote is very varied, inspired by Johnston’s travels in Africa and Asia and his love of the Arts & Crafts Movement. The pattern features the likeness of the pink “Lawrence Johnston”, which runs throughout the design.
