The New York County Supreme Court on August 8, 2023 rejected challenges to rules promulgated by the Mayor’s Office of Special Enforcement to enforce Local Law 18, which requires hosts to obtain a registration for short-term rentals, and platforms, such as Airbnb, verify that the property being rented is either exempt from registration of is validly registered.
