In 1988, the city of New York implemented regulations after determining that bricks falling from buildings and terraces deteriorating was no longer the best option for our city, as they posed serious safety risks. These measures also helped prevent water pe*******on into the homes.
To keep the boroughs of New York healthy and safe, the city strengthened these requirements in 2021, mandating that at least one scaffolding drop be installed from the top of a building to the bottom. This allows for a comprehensive, hands-on inspection of the façade to ensure structural integrity and public safety.
