🤳 Stay tuned for NYC’s mobile app for vendors and workshops by SVP!

The Venture Forward program is a game changer for New York City’s 23,000 street vendors. Through this partnership with the NYCSBS, the Street Vendor Project will create culturally competent resources that ensure vendors can navigate and comply with vending laws. As the principal organization supporting and organizing street vendors, SVP is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between government and our city’s smallest businesses. We thank SBS Commissioner Kenny Minaya, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani Deputy Mayor Julie Su for their relentless focus on economic justice and dignity for New Yorkers!

👏Know 👏Your 👏Rights!

Thank you to NYC Immigrants and NYCSBS for prioritizing Know Your Rights outreach to NYC’s 23,000 street vendors, 96% of whom are immigrants.

Just months ago this would have seemed impossible.

Thank you to Harlem World Magazine for covering this important initiative.

☀️ In preparation for this week’s heat wave, our team has been on the ground distributing extreme heat info, rechargeable fans, sunscreen, insulated water bottles, cooling hats and towels, thermometers, umbrellas, and more to help vendors stay safe and cool 📋 𖣘🥤🧴🌡️⛱️

As outdoor workers, street vendors are exposed to long hours in the sun, making them vulnerable to heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and dehydration.

🙏 Thank you to Resilient Cities Catalyst for partnering with us on this critical initiative.

🗓️ Today is the first day for the release of the new food vendor Supervisory Licenses!

These mark the first batch of licenses created by the Street Vendor Reform package.

We’re grateful to the City Council’s leadership and commitment to deliver for our vendor community. We’re also grateful to the administration for their dedication to fully implement the local laws and invest in agencies to deliver the licenses and resources to street vendors.

We can’t wait to see all vendors receiving their licenses, the services, and resources they need.

🙏 Thank you to Speaker Julie Menin and all of our champions in the New York City Council including CM Pierina Sanchez NYC Council Member Amanda Farias Council Member Shekar Krishnan Council Member Carmen De La Rosa Assembly Member Harvey Epstein, the Office of the NYC Public Advocate, and so many others past and present members and staff!
