This week, we awarded $162,500 in scholarships to blind and low-vision students who are attending university. These awards come from named scholarships that honor those who shape the Lighthouse Guild community.

Vision loss is not a ceiling for ambition, and these students prove that.

Lighthouse Guild is proud to partner with Meta and the Blinded Veterans Association to help expand access to Ray-Ban Meta glasses for blind and low-vision veterans.

For many of the veterans we serve, vision loss can create new barriers to independence and freedom, pillars of their sacrifice serving our nation. U.S. Army Veteran Don Overton is a shining example of how innovative technology can help bridge these gaps. We are helping provide veterans like Don with access to innovative technology and the training they need to use it, empowering more blind and low vision veterans across the country.

We’re also proud to stand alongside Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Homes For Our Troops, and the American Council of the Blind in this important work. When organizations come together around a shared commitment to accessibility and innovation, meaningful change becomes possible.
