Hemsley Lighting Programs

Hello everyone! It’s about time I introduce myself. My name is AJ Rose, and I have the pleasure to be one of the Hemsley Lighting Interns this year. I’m on the musical theatre track, which means I’ll be assisting Paul Miller at the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera in June/July and assisting Rob Denton at the Muny in St. Louis in July/August. I’ve already had a chance to work on some very exciting opportunities, so stay tuned for some more reflections on what I’ve been up to so far this summer!

Some brief info about me:
- born in Michigan, live in Connecticut
- went to Western Michigan University for undergrad (c/o 2023); just graduated from Texas State University for grad school in May
- proud cat dad to Celia (swipe for some cute cat photos, you know you want to see em)
- avid enjoyer of books, movies, music, and Nintendo video games - so if you ever have any recommendations please let me know! I’m currently reading the Odyssey, a current big fan of Project Hail Mary, and slowly getting back into Stardew Valley and pokemon Pokopia
- I immensely enjoy a side quest or an adventure, whether alone or with friends =)
