Hi Friends 💕 it’s been a while since I’ve been on social media - I’m hugging you all through this phone, and you have all been in my metta prayers every morning, as I’m hoping you feel held during this difficult time. Just a reminder that you are not alone, we love you, and we’re all in this together. If you live in the Brooklyn neighborhood, I’m organizing a DRY FOOD + SUPPLIES DRIVE today (Sun, 3/15) at Hollenback Community Garden (details below). I will be working with schools to distribute this to families in need. I’m just anticipating school closures, and am thinking about the hardships that come with that for families that are living in homeless shelters, or are struggling. Thank you to all of my incredible neighbors for helping out to organize this, and to , our NYC Council Member for your support and advice. If you want to help out in your neighborhood, feel free to reach out to me and I can help direct you. A good way is to join NextDoor.com (like a local craigslist), and post that you are available to help. You can also reach out to your block association or your local council member to find out what initiatives are happening in your neighborhood. Check out too, you can sign up to be a volunteer as they are organizing help for those in need in our local neighborhoods.
If you feel comfortable being out, come swing by and drop off what you can. I’ll set up two tables to create physical distance and will be wearing rubber gloves.
Details:

date: ‪Sunday, March 15th‬
time: ‪1pm-3pm‬
location: right outside HOLLENBACK COMMUNITY GARDEN

Suggested goods:
canned foods
powdered milk
pasta
rice
sanitizer
alcohol pads
