DJ-Roy Thode at IP-57 (C.1978). He was very well known in the gay club circuit and considered one of the best DJ's around in the city during the disco days.He played at many legendary nightclubs,including:IP-57, Ice Palace on Fire Island, Studio-54,The Underground and The Saint.He was very sought after and one can not miss how handsome he was ! Sadly,his life was cut short at only 33 in 1982. It is ironic how he dedicated his whole life to his love of the music of the disco era and playing it as a master of perfection.in 1982,disco died and so did Roy.May he rest in peace...a true iconic part of gay history in New York during those incomparable disco years.

GREAT Picture of Roy Thode One of our original D.J.s. A Master that we were lucky enough to have not only at Ice Palace 57 but also at the Ice Palace in Fire Island. He was in HUGE demand everywhere in New York and could pretty much ask for any kind of compensation. He was a sweetheart.

The Ice Palace was truly like no other disco nightclub of its time...because it was exclusively gay and branded itself that way ...back in the day !

Disco music was and remains the best and most vibrant dance music ever created !
