SASI (Sunday Afternoons on Staten Island) is a 16 year old book group. About 20 women are members from all over the island. We meet in member's homes.

Perhaps more timely than we thought...our next book is A Woman is No Man, a novel about Palestinian families, the immigrant experience, and domestic violence. We may need tissues and cookies to discuss this book.
We are still alive and reading...and talking about it. Our next book is The Vanishing Half.
We are discussing Warlight this week. We gravitate to the rich stories inspired by WWII.

Finally...I figured out how to open this file from Joan...sent a year ago! Here's our 11th Anniversary group photo! The good news is that we have hardly changed...now that's something to celebrate in itself!
I think a advertisement for a TV production of the Henrietta Lacks story starring Oprah Winfrey...just flashed by my eyes...anyone else see that?

If I start today and read 25 pages day, I think I will have our next book read in time. As I recall, it's a long one. So let's get started.
