Americans Abroad Must File IRS Taxes, Disclose Accounts & Assets 06/05/2023

U.S. taxpayers living and working abroad must file their 2022 tax returns by June 15. This deadline applies to both U.S. citizens and resident aliens abroad, including those with dual citizenship. A taxpayer qualifies for the June 15 filing deadline if: (1) Both their tax home and abode are outside the United States or Puerto Rico, or (2) They are serving in the military outside the U.S. and Puerto Rico on the regular due date of their tax return. Qualifying taxpayers should attach a statement to the return indicating which of these two situations applies.

Americans Abroad Must File IRS Taxes, Disclose Accounts & Assets Federal law requires U.S. citizens to file tax returns and to report worldwide income, and to declare foreign bank accounts and other assets. Penalties are steep.

ONE DAY MORE! (and, no, not the song from Les Mis)
Tomorrow is Tax Day! Remember to file/pay tomorrow to keep the State and IRS happy.

Well, as happy as they can be. They do have a lot of taxes to go through, as well.
