Larry Bucshon, MD, is featured in this video discussing reform for physician reimbursements surrounding providers that participate. Bucshon mentions the need to expand budget neutrality to ensure that all providers have the opportunity to get an increase in reimbursements, from surgeons to primary care physicians. He also mentioned the need for annual inflation updates based on the Consumer Price Index. However, Bucshon mentioned that physician reimbursements should be based on the Medicare Economic Index rather than the CPI because if practice costs are increasing due to inflation, then the reimbursements should increase according to the MEI.

Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you all are well! I’m reaching out to you all to introduce you to a cause that has grown very important to me.
As you may know, I have been working to fundraise for New York Dance Marathon, a year-long student fundraising effort that culminates in a 12 hour dance marathon. I am excited to let you all know that today is a special day for NYDM! It’s $46K in a day!!! I am also excited to let you know that NYDM has $25K ready to Match every donation I receive today, dollar-to-dollar. So if you donate $20 I will receive a total of $40 added to my fundraising page. Your donation contributes directly to The Andrew McDonough B+ (Be Positive) Foundation, the largest provider of financial assistance to families of children battling cancer.
In addition to granting financial assistance to families, the foundation funds critical research to fight cancer. Since only 4% of all federal cancer funds are allocated to childhood cancer research, this money is crucial to finding more efficient medications. The B+ Foundation also partners kids battling cancer with student groups at local universities to form an “older brother/sister” relationship. We visit these kids through their treatment and host events for them throughout the year.
B+ Hero Caleb was diagnosed with leukemia at 5 years old. Caleb has six siblings, and it’s true that when a child is fighting cancer, the whole family feels it. Not only did Caleb have parts of his childhood taken away from him because of this disease, but his siblings did too. In 2022, Caleb completed 2+ years of treatment, and in 2023, he and his siblings set a goal to ride 100 different roller coasters – a goal that symbolizes the ups and downs of childhood cancer and embraces the childlike bliss they had stolen from them for two years. Two weeks ago, they officially reached their goal! However, not all kids diagnosed with cancer are afforded this opportunity.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Missing this! These are some photos from the Trash Bag Fashion Show I participated in on February 11th! All of the kids were so creative in the outfits they made for their models to wear down the runway. So happy to be working so closely to an amazing organization! Big thank you to NYDM and everyone else involved to make this experience so memorable!
