Chanel are increasing the price of some of their fan-favourite style of bags. The difference in price will come at an increase of 5% to 17%, adding at least another NZD $390 to NZD $ 1,500 to their already hefty price tag.

Included in the price increase is the Classic, 2.55, Boy, Gabrielle, Chanel 19, as well as a few of their small leather goods range.

There is speculation that the luxury brand’s price increase comes after the impact of Covid-19 and their store closing. However, Chanel stated that their price increases are “implemented only after careful consideration, and are necessary for the brand to continue investing to maintain its core standards of creativity and craft.”

Fashion Designer Zac Posen is shutting down his fashion label.
House of Z spokes announced last week that after a “comprehensive strategic and financial review of the businesses” they would be halting all business operations.
Zac Posen launched his label in 2001 when he was only 20 years old. Posen is most well known for his fairytale gowns and his mermaid silhouettes. He was also a key figure in the the television show ‘Project Runway’ for a number of years and the subject of his own documentary, ‘House of Z’.
Majority of his work was in event dressing, especially red carpets. Among those who have worn his event designs are: Oprah, Michelle Obama, Rihanna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts, Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Claire Danes.
