This morning, we joined Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, unions, worker centers, and leaders from the Administration to make an announcement regarding the upcoming extreme heat 🥵 and new protections for workers.

This week, we meet with others comrades from different states to learn, share, and strengthen our commitment to child care for everyone. It was amazing to meet people at the national level from Chicago, Virginia, Georgia, and us from New Jersey✊🏾

🚨Today: Street Vendor Project Workers Justice Project - Proyecto Justicia Laboral DRUM - Desis Rising Up & Moving and Laundry Workers Center members rally and made a press conference at the NYC City Council calling for a new funding initiative to implement recently passed landmark protections and laws for gig workers and street vendors. We are urging investments to support 100,000+ workers in delivery, rideshare, street vending, laundry, and other low-wage sectors—expanding outreach, workers’ rights education, organizing support, and access to resources so workers can learn about their new rights, come forward without fear, and thrive in NYC. ✊🏾
