After extensive discussions with LaGuardia's senior administration, the AEIP is pleased to announce the selection of John Collins as Interim AEIP Program Director.
In addition to being an AEIP faculty member since 2008, John comes to the position with seven years supervisory experience as LaGuardia's Deaf Studies Program Director.
His long history with the program, 20 years of experience at Lexington School for the Deaf while also being the spouse of an AEIP graduate provides a unique perspective of the program and Deaf Education.

As a consultant, Liz Lauria will assist the transition process as needed. With John at the helm, the AEIP is in good hands moving forward.

Best of luck, John!

Lexington School for the Deaf Drama Club is proud to announce their Spring 2021 virtual production - Diverse Connections. We hope you will consider attending this performance and sharing our flyer with others who might like to attend virtually.

A special Opening Night Virtual Watch Party will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 7 p.m. The performance will be presented in American Sign Language with English interpretation and captioning. The production is not recommended for children under 13.

Tickets to the Opening Night Virtual Watch Party are $5/individual viewing and $10/group viewing. The link for purchasing tickets or donating to the production is: https://www.bit.ly/LexDrama2021. A link to the virtual performance will be e-mailed to ticket purchasers on Thursday afternoon, March 18th.

For this year’s production, the Drama Club collected stories from people of different backgrounds to create a series of vignettes about who we are and how we connect as people. The six cast members were fortunate to hone their skills with professional Deaf artists – Monique Holt, John McGinty and Alexandria Wailes – thanks to the generous support of Rhys McClelland and The Public Theatre.

A free link to the recorded performance will be available on March 19th.

You are also invited to join the cast on Sunday, March 21st at 2:00 pm for a free, special on-line panel discussion between the story contributors and the actors.

Since September 2020, the students have worked exceedingly hard, in a virtual environment, to create this very special production. I hope you will be able to attend the Watch Party and support our students.
