On May 14, we hosted our Land Use 2026: Priorities and Implementation program, bringing together firm and industry leaders to explore the land use priorities of the Mamdani administration and topics such as implementation of City of Yes, landmarks transfers, conversions and the recent City Charter amendments.

A highlight of the event was an engaging conversation with Hon. Sideya Sherman, Chair of the City Planning Commission, who joined Land Use partner Valerie Campbell to share insights from the administration’s perspective.

👏 The Appellate Division, Second Department in New York, has affirmed a $15.43 million compensation award plus interest, for the condemnation of our client's property in the heart of downtown Flushing, Queens.

The condemned property — a one-story retail building on 2,601 square feet of land leased to an Asian food market, located adjacent to the Long Island Rail Road Station — was acquired by the MTA, which initially offered just $2.6 million. At trial, the MTA's own appraiser valued the property at $5.1 million.

Our team achieved an uncommon result: the court awarded the full amount testified to by our appraiser.
