We’re excited to share progress from our New Entry Vestibule project at Bronx Community College.
Recently, our team successfully mobilized a third-shift operation to install structural steel—an approach driven by unexpected existing site conditions that limited conventional installation methods. After evaluating our options, we determined that a knuckle boom was the safest and most effective solution.
To prioritize the safety of students, faculty, and on-site workers, all steel installation was completed during off-hours while the campus was closed. This strategic decision minimized disruption and required careful coordination and pre-planning across all teams.
This milestone reflects what strong collaboration and proactive problem-solving can achieve. Appreciation to our project partners—DASNY, Dattner Architects, YAS, and Freedom Iron Works—for their continued teamwork and dedication.

We would also like to take this time to congratulate all of the winners! Safety isn’t a priority it’s a standard!

We are making progress at the Bronx Community College Express project for DASNY, with the completion of the vertical concrete walls for the New Entry Vestibule. The walls were installed where two separate buildings were joined together in a previous renovation. We cut through four levels of existing concrete slabs encountering numerous unforeseen conditions. The west wall is bearing on a new footing located twenty feet below grade in the Cellar.
This outcome was made possible through strong teamwork, thoughtful problem solving, and precise ex*****on. Thank you to DASNY, Dattner Architects, YAS, Howard I. Shapiro & Associates, Clear Contracting, and Universal Builders Supply for making it happen.

CWC recently held its twice yearly CPR, AED, and First Aid refresher for employees. While the training supports safety at our workplaces, the skills extend far beyond the job. By learning how to respond in medical emergencies, team members are better prepared to act and assist others wherever the need arises.
