History

For Janian Designs Founder Mher Janian, this is not a business but a daily joy to bring happiness to others through the art of jewelry design and production. With more than 25 years of international experience, Janian started out at a young age in his family’s shop, creating pieces and learning under master jewelers. One of the most important things Janian learned is that design and production is an art, a creative process that results in bringing joy to others. Founded on these ideals, for Janian his work gives him a sense of purpose. This commitment to the industry as an art is something he has imparted not only on his employees but students. His 15-year expertise in 3D CAD CAM designing and printing earned Janian teaching positions at some of NYC’s jewelry design schools. In his role as teacher, Janian taught the art of handmade jewelry work from designing and how to use tools to fabricating pieces from drawings. Janian also taught 3D CAD CAM designing and how students can assist local designers in creating fine pieces. Utilising his years of experience, Janian also offered his students career advice and networking with contractors and vendors.
