Open Stage Project's mission is to close the gender gap in backstage and off-screen careers.

Do you know a high school girl or non-binary student interested in working behind-the-scenes in theater, film, or TV? Tell them to apply to Open Stage Project's Act 2 Program! --- Act 2 is a FREE year-long program that includes: ATTENDING BROADWAY PERFORMANCES & career conversations with backstage crew. TOURING scenic, costume, and lighting shops. One-on-one MENTORSHIP with industry professionals. BEHIND-THE-SCENES SHADOWING opportunities. Building REAL-WORLD SKILLS like résumé writing, networking, & self advocacy. --- WHO CAN APPLY? Female, non-binary, and gender non-conforming rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors from New York City public high schools. TIME COMMITMENT: Act 2 runs Sept. 2023-May 2024. The program averages 2 exclusive experiences per month (approximately 6 hours/month) + monthly written reflections. PROGRAM COSTS: Act 2 is completely FREE to students.
