André opened doors for Black creativity in luxury, but his impact went way beyond that. He didn’t just shift the culture for The Culture; he raised the standard for the entire industry. At Vogue, he helped shape editorial direction and championed designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Diane von Furstenberg, pushing fashion forward and changing how style was seen on a global level.
