I'm a dull man, but just had a far-from-dull experience.
I was at Heathrow airport, picking up family. I had a long wait at the Arrivals gate, and, among the sign-holding chauffeurs and greeters, I saw this fellow. Of course, I wondered if it could be the eminent scientist and fantastic presenter of that name.
So I continued to wait. Watching the contents of international aircraft spill out through the gate and into London. The area got busy.
It was then that I spotted a distinctive flame-haired passenger, walk through the gate, stop, and scan around, looking perplexed. I could tell she couldn't spot her greeter.
I walked over, and asked if she was, indeed Hannah Fry.
Indeed she was.
I said: ''I didn't come over to tell you how much I love your shows - although I do! - but rather that your driver is over there'', pointing her in the right direction.
She smiled that wolfish grin, thanked me very much (as did the greeter) and that was that.
A couple of minutes later my children arrived from Malaysia.

I am proud of the planning that went into this photo. I had to
1) Reset the trip meter to zero when the odometer reached exactly 122667 (i.e., 123456 - 789).
2) Arrange to be in a safe parking space when the trip meter reached 789.0 (which I did by overshooting the parking space, noting the trip meter reading at that point, driving half the distance between when I passed the parking space and 789.0, and making a U-turn to get back to the parking space),
3) Remember to have my camera with me on this excursion,
4) Park in a space where it was safe to get out of the car with the engine running (note that the tachometer is not on zero),
5) Arrange to prop the camera on the driver's seat in a place where it would be able to see both me (through the windshield) and the instrument panel (in focus),
6) Set the camera's self-timer and release the shutter, and finally,
7) Get out of the car, run around to the front, and lean on the hood before the camera took the picture.

Here is a very dull x-ray of my mouth in January 2020.
Upon taking the x-ray, my dentist said “Corianna, did you know you have 10 baby teeth?” To which I said, “Yes. I was there when they never came out.” What I WAS surprised to see, however, was the number of permanent teeth. A dentist had told me as a teen that they’d be reabsorbed by my body if I didn’t address them properly (surgery and braces). At the time, we were living below the poverty line, so we left my mouth alone and asked no further questions.
The dentist who took the 2020 x-ray referred me to an orthodontist, who referred me to a surgeon. The x-ray and subsequent scans elicited from all 3 professionals some adjectives one does not like to hear before any kind of treatment including “exciting,” “unique,” and “worst.” After surgery, the removal of 10 baby teeth (and a sad excuse for a half-formed wisdom tooth), and 4.5 years in braces, I now have a mouth full of very straight and good-looking permanent teeth that were very much never reabsorbed. F32. Size 7. No banana.

My son has been in and out of jail since he was 15, 25 now, long story short, i raised him and tried to keep him away from his mother but as a teen he found her and started hanging with her alot, she got him addicted to drugs and he then started his life of homelessness and crime, i very rarely know if he's inside or on the streets or even which jail he is currently locked up in. He called me last week from local prison, 100ks south east from me, i havnt seen him for 3 years, he said he's getting released this Thursday, he begged me to buy him some clothes for his release, i knew that this was the one time I would be able to see him, i went to K Mart and got him everything he needed, called the jail to book a visit, because of his special requirements there was only 1 appointment possible before his release, this happened to fall on Monday, yesterday, and I had an RDO. Left extra early to make sure nothing would get in the way of seeing my son, I was an hour early, extremely nervous, shaking and felt like I was going to vomit, everything was done, me and 30 other ppl visiting their loved ones were in line for the sniffer dog to have a run past, it was at this point a guard noticed i had steal capped boots on, unbeknownst to me these were strictly not allowed, I was told I could not visit my son, I begged and said I would go barefoot, anything please just let me see my son, this is my only chance, one guard pulled the other aside, they let everyone else through, one guard ran off back through all the heavily fortified electric doors, the other guard said he'll be back in 5. After the longest few minutes of my life the guard returned with a pair of shoes, he said "here mate, I hope they fit, they are mine from my locker" I hugged the life out of him, swapped shoes and went inside. It was a tough visit but I held it together until I got back to my car, where I then proceeded so sob like a baby for nearly half an hour.

My new coworker gave me a box of iPods that his old company used for testing/R&D and I just got the first one working again by replacing the battery. The coolest thing was that the original hard drive inside was still good, and was full of its previous owners music which was a bunch of early 2000s pop. This specific model is a 20 GB second-generation iPod which means it’s between 21-22 years old now.

For those of you who requested updates, 26 hours in & 18 left to find. She’s back in 9 hours 😥

I don’t understand what this group is but I bought this giant zucchini at my neighbors farmstand for a dollar and uploaded these photos and people told me to post it here
Buying the giant zucchini was the greatest day of my life. I fed 6 adults with it and we still had a third of the zucchini left. I went back and bought another just to feel something.
Anyway banana for scale was just something I did but apparently it means something and now I’m confused and scared but I tried to act like I knew what it meant in the comments so my friends don’t think I’m an idiot

EDIT: I regret the feel something comment. NOT WHAT I MEANT. Whole thing is overwhelming me now. I’m just really excited about the giant zucchini which apparently wasn’t even a zucchini so now I’ve probably mislabeled the zucchini and ruined its life.
Sorry EDIT EDIT: The zucchini, which is apparently a zucchini in America but not a zucchini anywhere else, was very tasty. Not a lot of seeds. I cut it up and put it on the grill. I believe I understand the rules of the group now. I’m sorry, I’m allergic to cats? I don’t know…. I am going to print out a screenshot of this post now to let the neighbors know I accidentally made their zucchini (that I maybe should not have actually paid for??) accidentally famous and I believe also the zucchini is now on onlyfans? I don’t actually know the neighbors but I now feel like they’re sort of involved?

While on our flight to Tenerife i spotted that the engine cowlings on our Airbus A320neo used Phillips screws. I spent a good amount of time wondering why they dont use torx and even pointed it out to my fiancee who unfortunately (but understandably) was quite uninterested in the matter. Wouldnt Phillips screws strip easily?
