When Abdul fled Ghana after his identity put his life in danger, he arrived in the United States exhausted, relieved, and alone. What followed was a legal system he didn't understand, a missed court date he didn't know about, and a removal proceeding that threatened everything he was trying to build.

In this video, Abdul shares what it meant to have an attorney who made time for him, responded to his texts, and made him feel seen in a country where he knew no one. From detention to a green card, from survival to studying nursing, his story is one of resilience, community, and what it looks like when people facing impossible odds finally get the support they deserve.

Gio arrived in the United States at 16, alone and unsure of what came next. Today, he holds his green card, is pursuing higher education, and reminds other young people facing deportation that help exists and they do not have to navigate this system alone.
