Water Sourced Heat Pumps (WSHP) are very common in hotels, condos and newer apartments all over NYC. Amongst the issues a WSHP might face, one of the most common one is a stuck reversing valve, which will prevent the unit from switching from heat to cool or vice versa. As the hospitality industry has been ramping up, we've noticed our clients have issues with units that had been previously dormant for the past season. We recommend all building engineers to take stock of the working and non-working WSHPs in their inventory and to schedule repairs prior to the spring season. Having spare WSHPs can come a long way in avoiding a hotel room vacancy.
