Since 2021, The Met has been the largest art museum in the United States to offer fully paid internships. Today, thanks to a transformative gift from Jennifer Rubio and Stewart Butterfield through their Rubio Butterfield Foundation, that commitment is endowed, supporting paid internships for undergraduate and graduate students in perpetuity.

Every year, more than 100 interns work across 40+ departments, building skills in museum practice. We're committed to helping the next generation of museum professionals get there.
