Not all fabrics can be washed at home, not all stains respond to water, and no, “chemicals” isn’t the scary word influencers want you to think it is. Dry cleaning excels at oily stains like grease, makeup, and body oil, and protects delicate animal-based fibers like wool that water can damage.

Yes, perc (perchloroethylene) was a concern, butttttt the EPA finalized a phase-out, new machines haven’t been sold since 2025, and modern alternatives like liquid silicone and alcohol-based solvents have changed the game. Most dry cleaners supported the ban. We lived with it as a necessary evil for decades.

Our job is to balance garment safety with stain removal. We say: the stain belongs to the client, the garment belongs to us!

Spread knowledge, not misinformation

The Prada logo’s corners always fray and look terrible, these Schiaparelli snaps cannot be removed no matter what you do, and the Dolce & Gabbana metal AND leather patch will look terrible when sewn back on.

I miss the days when luxury also meant quality. Sadly these are all silly gimmicks.
