One year ago this week, we soft launched ShuttleCub. No big announcement. 5 Bears. 25 pilot families. Friends who were doing me a favor by trying out our service.

It was just a simple idea that I believed in, and hoped that it might actually help NYC families.

Our very first run was on April 29, 2025. We did 8 runs that first month. Earlier this week, we just completed our 400th run. ❤️🐻💪🏻

This past year has been a ton of learning, problem-solving, and figuring things out as we ran (literally!). But more than anything, it’s been about building trust, community and the right systems to ensure the safety and reliability of our services on every single run.

none of this would exist without your smarts, patience, partnership and amazing ability to plug scheduling gaps. IYKYK 🫣 Oh, and your humor because sometimes you’ve just gotta laugh about it. “Manifest…” 🤪

To all the NYC parents who took a chance on us,
who trusted us with your kids, your schedules, your daily lives, thank you.

To our bears, you guys are the heart, soul and feet of .nyc. You are the ones making the magic happen, each and every day, and I am so grateful to the bear den we’ve built together.

To my husband, , thank you for believing in me, in my crazy vision, & for supporting me through this adventure. Oh and thank you for asking me when I’m going back to a “real job” less and less often… 🤪

We’re still early, still building, learning, and improving every day. Thank you for being part of our journey. We are only just beginning!

A day in the life of building .nyc
From early morning workout time, and special school moments…to behind-the-scenes logistics to make sure every Cub gets where they need to be - safely, reliably and on-time.

It’s messy.
It’s exhausting.
It’s a lot.
But it matters…to me, to my co-founder , and to all the NYC families we support.

And now… what’s for dinner, Mommy? 😅

College Spring break = Half our Bears away… 😅
So last week, ShuttleCub founders and were back on the streets, subways, and sidewalks doing runs ourselves!

Truth be told, it was actually nice to be back out “in the field” — with kids, with families, and in our Bears’ shoes again. It reminds us exactly why every detail matters.

We may not do many runs these days, but we still train every new Bear, cover when our Bears are out, and step in whenever families need us.

That’s the promise behind .nyc —
Real people, real backup, real reliability.
Parents are never left scrambling.
We always have you covered.
