Zohran Mamdani should be instantly disqualified from receiving a U.S. security clearance. The man who wants access to classified intelligence is the same man sneaking around meeting with Colombia’s narco-terrorist president, Gustavo Petro.
Petro isn’t just “far-left.” He’s a former Marxist guerrilla, sanctioned for narcotrafficking, had his U.S. visa revoked for urging the American military to disobey President Trump, and now spends his days accusing the United States of murder and calling for Trump’s arrest. Colombia even cut off intelligence sharing with the U.S. under his watch.
This is the foreign strongman Mamdani proudly cozied up to. Petro celebrated Mamdani’s rise in New York and blasted out photos of their quiet September meeting. And it didn’t stop there—Petro has encouraged political violence in Colombia, and one of his top rivals ended up assassinated after his threats.
So why is the mayor of America’s largest city playing footsie with a narco-terrorist apologist? Why is he giving legitimacy to a man who despises the United States and openly targets President Trump?
And now this same mayor is about to receive a federal security clearance that grants him access to terrorism briefings through the FBI. That means classified information in the hands of someone who proudly embraces America’s enemies.
A man who pals around with foreign narco-terrorist sympathizers should never be within a mile of classified intel. President Trump and the FBI must shut this down immediately.
