The "glow" isn't always real. Internally, that is.

There are too many feelings folks DON'T give you permission to have, so allow me to step in...

You're allowed to grow a whole human and also be tired.

You're allowed to be excited and overwhelmed in the same hour.

You're allowed to do less than you planned and still be more than enough.

You're allowed to feel deeply for your baby while also grieving the version of life you're saying goodbye to.

You're allowed to not have a single thing figured out yet.

Just keep going. You have been. And you'll continue to. And despite the struggles, as cliche as it is, it'll be worth it once your little miracle is in your arms.

You're past the early weeks of "is this real," but you're not yet at the part where the baby feels imminent.

You're somewhere in the middle, just...carrying.

This is the time where the bonding starts to deepen, even if you're still scared. It's where you start picking out names but also start worrying about what kind of mom you'll be. It's the season where you might feel guilty for not feeling more excited, or feel anxious for feeling too much.

🥹 All of it belongs.

I've sat with so many moms in our scan room during this stretch of pregnancy.

The ones who couldn't wait to see their babies. The ones who came in nervous and left lighter. The ones who quietly cried in the dark and didn't fully know why.

🤍 And every single one of them was already doing the most sacred kind of work: loving someone they hadn't met yet.

So if no one has told you this lately: you don't have to feel a certain way about this season for it to count.

You don't have to glow. You don't have to be sure. You don't have to be calm.

You just have to be here.
