Maxine N. Lurie is a professor at Seton Hall University. She has written extensively about early American and New Jersey history.

Taking Sides in Revolutionary New Jersey, published in 2022, explores the reasons why some people chose to side with the Continentals, and others chose to remain loyal to the British government.
