Today we mourn the loss of a great leader and public servant in Mike Purzycki.
Mayor Mike’s lifetime of service to New Castle County and the City of Wilmington will never be forgotten as he left an indelible mark on Wilmington’s Riverfront and skyline, but he will be greatly missed.

I’m honored to have the support of Delaware Stonewall PAC!
In 2020 I organized the first Pride event and flag raising at the New Castle County Government Center — the first time a pride flag was flown at a County building — to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Pride Day, which itself commemorates the Stonewall Uprising. The event continues annually each year.
I’ll continue to stand by the LGBTQIA+ community as your next County Councilman for the Third District and cannot thank Delaware Stonewall enough for their trust and support.

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat and humidity and came out for today’s Newark Memorial Day parade!
I had a great time meeting voters as we honored our veterans.
Thank you to all those who served and continue to serve today.

I’m devastated by the news of the fire overnight at the Mother African Union Church (The Motherland).
I’ve spent countless hours in that gorgeous landmark between stories for The News Journal and filming the County’s documentary on the Mt. Olive Cemetery. It was a beautiful space and I’ll do whatever I can to support the community as it’s rebuilt.
You can see how truly beautiful it was in the scenes we filmed inside:

I spent my morning finishing up the work I started with a group of volunteers yesterday over at Kranz Farm in the White Clay Creek State Park.
A dozen volunteers, 225 trees and three hours in beautiful weather and the farm has a new food forest!
In a few years these trees will grow to provide native fruits for people and native fruits and nuts for wildlife.
Our campaign will continue to look for ways to give back to the community through the election. If you’d like to join the effort to make our district an even better place to live, sign up to volunteer!

Great morning out at Krantz Farm volunteering with the UD Cooperative Extension prepping 250 trees for planting tomorrow as part of a new Food Forest that will provide a mix of native fruits and nuts for both humans and wild life.
I’ll be back out in the morning to help get everything in the ground!

Congratulations to Celita Cherry and Jenny Howard for winning their elections in the Christina and Red Clay School Board elections yesterday!
I believe both of these women will do a great job for our students in the years to come and look forward to supporting them in any way I can as a partner at the County.

I'm incredibly honored to announce our first official endorsement of the campaign is from Democratic Municipal Officials!
DMO is the official organization of the Democratic National Committee representing local elected officials and candidates. DMO serves as the Democratic voice in local politics and the local voice within the Democratic Party.
It means so much to me to have the support of Democrats serving at the municipal level across our country. All politics are local, and municipal officials can have the biggest impact on the daily lives of our constituents.

Sights from a full day of door knocking in the district, including the funniest flag, some gorgeous azaleas and wildflowers in full bloom and the most amazing walkway to a front door I’ve ever seen.
Running for office is almost a full-time job in itself, but this is hands down the best part of it. Getting to talk to dozens of neighbors, hear their concerns and encouragement is worth all the long hours.

Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock was absolutely inspiring at tonight’s First State Dinner hosted by the Delaware Democratic Party in Wilmington.
Tonight’s event celebrated the great work our party is doing to fight back against the corruption in Washington and protect our democracy and I left energized and ready to keep up that fight for our out district.

Last week our campaign made history when I officially filed my paperwork to run for New Castle County Council — For the first time since Council was reorganized in 1996, there will be a Democratic Primary for our district!
Since filing, it’s been a whirlwind of meetings and events — Indivisible Newark Delaware candidate meet & greet, the Delaware State AFL CIO Worker Memorial Day event, kickoffs for other candidates running for office, and another budget hearing for the proposed FY2027 budget.
We’ve got a lot more on deck before we get to September and I’m looking forward to staying busy!
