Happy Friday my people. Enjoy the day, but more importantly, Enjoy Life!!

Average life expectancy in the United States is about 76 years.
That means between age 18 and 76, you have only about 58 years of adult life.

Here is what that really looks like.

Between age 18 and 76, you have:

• About 3,016 weekends
• About 21,170 total days
• Only 58 birthdays
• Roughly 504 months of adult life
• About 7,440 nights of sleep
• Around 2,920 Mondays
• About 175,200 waking hours (assuming 8 hours of sleep per night)
• Roughly 1,040 seasons of life (winters, springs, summers, and falls)

Put another way…

If you are 35 years old, you have already used up about 17 of those 58 adult years.

If you are 50, you likely have around 26 years left.

And if you are 60, you may have only about 16 adult years remaining.

Life is shorter than we think.

Spend your time intentionally, build meaningful relationships, and use your days wisely—because the clock is always moving.

This is me.

This might be the realist thing ever said.  

I literally could not say it better myself, but I can help you understand the mechanics of why these words carry so much weight.  

Most people treat their thoughts like a background noise they can’t control.

The truth is that your mind is a garden, and if you aren’t planting what you want, the weeds of what you fear will take over by default.

James Allen broke this down over a century ago in As a Man Thinketh; read it if you want to understand the source code.  

If you need the science, look into your Reticular Activating System.

Your brain has a physical gatekeeper that decides what you notice and what you ignore.

When you focus on what you don’t have, you are literally training your biology to keep you blind to the solutions right in front of you.  

This isn’t about “positive thinking” in a poetic sense.
It is about the CBT model of emotions—a hard-wired loop where your thoughts dictate your feelings, and those feelings drive your reality.

If you want to change the magnet, you have to stop feeding the enemy that lives inside your own head.  
Study the “Mirror” philosophy in The Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.

Stop looking out the window for someone to blame or someone to save you.

The world doesn’t happen to you; it responds to you.  
Go back and rewatch The Matrix with this perspective.
It hits different when you realize the spoon isn’t the thing that needs to bend.  

Reality is a reflection, not a requirement.

Happy New Year everyone. I established this page to showcase my therapy practice, business ventures, and community events, while providing mental health support and education. Unfortunately, my demanding schedule has hindered my ability to post regularly. Nevertheless, this year will be different, as I have recognized the potential of my underutilized children. Korey Clayton, my son, has accepted a paid position as my social media manager. He is a talented young man who is currently enrolled in PTECH, a program at his high school that prepares students for a career in technology. He will graduate with his high school diploma and an associate degree in cybersecurity. It is surprising that I overlooked his capabilities, given that he resides in my home. Please join me in welcoming Korey and anticipating his future contributions. Thank you all for your ongoing support. I am optimistic that 2026 will be a successful year.
