Happy Birthday to SWSC! Today, we celebrate our command's legacy, which began on July 1, 1961 with the creation of the U.S. Naval Destroyer School. We honor SWSC's origins and the evolution through the Surface Warfare Officers School into the large, geographically dispersed command we are today.

For 65 years, our core mission has remained the same: ensuring U.S. Navy Officers and crews are ready to command the seas. We are proud to train the Navy's finest Surface Warriors and will continue to provide the Fleet with leaders ready to win the fight.

SWSC is proud to have such extraordinary staff members, like LT Sands at Mariner Skills Training Center Pacific, San Diego. Providing top-notch surface warfare training is essential to maintaining Fleet readiness, and BDOC is where that training starts. Thank you, LT Sands, and the rest of our BDOC instructors!
