Never had to deck plate a block to install pistons but here we are. 2019 GT350 voodoo block. Without the deck plate piston to cylinder wall tolerance was .0003”. Feel free to read that again 😂. With the deck plate wall clearance jumped to .0011”. This is an OEM plus rebuild due to oil pressure failure. New OEM ford block had one cylinder .0005” smaller than the rest. Talking with Ford engineers allow for a .001” hone. I think we got very lucky that we’re within tolerance now. Minimum spec for wall clearance is .0006”
