Greetings all. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that have supported the Honor Guard over the years. When our dear Brother Col Tracy Lucas reactivated the 47th Kentucky volunteer mounted infantry in 2007 for ceremonial use , He dreamed that one day, the Commonwealth of Kentucky would get involved and be a major player. We are still working hard toward that goal and will not faulter until we make his dream a reality. When the board voted to accept his nomination for his successor, I realized very quickly, he had made the right decision. Col. Michelle Marshall is the driving force needed to complete the mission. Her hard work and dedication is bringing results in leaps and bounds. I could not be more pleased and proud of Her, the board, and all those who support us. Before Col. Lucas was promoted to rank of Angel, I promised him to do my best to keep this moving forward. Our supporters have been a blessing. All the members of American Legion Federal post 313 in Lexington have been a GodSend As you may know, until his promotion, Col Lucas was the Post Historian there

The Kentucky Mounted Honor Guard Cleanup Day was a tremendous success, thanks to everyone who came out and volunteered. We accomplished so much in just one day! While there is still plenty left to do, we’re making steady progress. A special shoutout to Scout Troop #473 for their hard work in removing an old section of fence and replacing it with new—your efforts are truly appreciated!
