Elephants are great animals. They are socially complex. They are the largest land mammal on the planet. They can live to be 75 & smell water from 12 miles away. Despite their enormous weight, they walk without a sound and use their feet to listen to sub-sonic sounds up to 2 miles away. They are highly sensitive and have been observed expressing grief, compassion, play and are altruistic. They are one of three mammals that can recognize themselves in a mirror. They pay respect to the dead by caressing the skulls and tusks with their trunks. THEY EXPRESS HUGS by WRAPPING their TRUNKS TOGETHER. In India an elephant with an upward trunk is good luck, and down is considered bad luck. SLIM's logo is a form of a tao, or yin yang comprised of good and bad luck.
