Art is alive 24/7 in The NEON District!
Artist Cedric "Vise1" Douglas' mural in the NEON is meant to offer hope.
Raised in a biracial family in Boston, Douglas aspires to help people see a culture undivided by genetics. It is fitting that the mural is on The Hurrah Players, an organization that celebrates the humanity that connects us all, no matter our race, s*x, age, or religion.

The NEON District is a wonderful place for dreams to come true!
The building in the NEON that is now home to Hurrah Players has quite the history.
First it was a stable for the horses that transported the goods of Miller & Rhoads Department Store around town. You can see the old stable windows bricked over behind Katie and Hugh.
Then it was the home to Sutton Blowers Manufacturing. They made giant fans for the military.
Now, some 300 students of all ages take acting and set design classes in this beautiful space. Hurrah is one of the great producers of creative talent in all of Hampton Roads, and we're proud to have them in the neighborhood.
