The Heart of Ballet

Ballet Virginia is well known for providing high quality classical ballet training in a loving environment. With over 200 years of combined experience, our professional faculty maintains the highest standards while teaching to the whole child. We surround our students with culture, give them a role in our community, and instill them with a love of dance that is unparalleled in the Hampton Roads area.

At Ballet Virginia we believe that stage performance skills are an important part of dance education. Therefore, all of our students have performance opportunities in our favorite productions from The Nutcracker to Sleeping Beauty. By also working with costumes, sets, lighting, and live music, we take our students beyond the classroom.

We offer dance classes for children, dance classes for adults, and even dance classes for toddlers. Our curriculum is equally diverse, with ballet classes, modern classes, pointe classes, and pilates. And we are proud to announce the addition of adaptive dance classes for special needs children.

After 11 years of offering ballet training to the Hampton Roads community, we are proud to announce the debut of our very own professional ballet company. Get ready for exciting new repertoire this season, including “Diversity in Dance,” choreographed by Lydia Roberts Coco, former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Principal Dancer; “Masquerade,” a Halloween themed production; as well as your classic favorites like The Nutcrackerand Sleeping Beauty.
