CrossPlatform Graphic Design Online Lecture
“My Practice: Elevating Marginalized Voices and Telling the Untold Stories: Through Teaching, Creative Activities and Writing.”
Tasheka Arceneaux Sutton
Wednesday, October 1
12:30pm to 1:30pm
Tasheka Arceneaux Sutton is a graphic designer, educator, image-maker, and writer whose career bridges design practice, scholarship, and pedagogy. She is an Associate Professor of Design at The University of Texas at Austin and teaches in the MFA program in graphic design at the Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA). She expands the scope of design history and practice through her teaching, studio practice, and research by centering the voices, stories, and communities that are often omitted.
She is the principal of Blacvoice Design, a studio she founded to deliver creative services that merge cultural insight with design excellence. The studio’s work spans branding, identity systems, electronic media, illustration, and publication design for educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and small businesses. Blacvoice Design reflects her belief in design as a tool of empowerment—one that amplifies underrepresented voices and advances equity through visual communication.
